I need to replace a babbit bearing in an old Jointer, does any one have a good source for information, or is this so easy that it becomes a request to have someone post or email both steps?

there is a bunch of information on pouring babbitt bearing at
http://www.oldwwmachines.com in the FAQ dept.
For more reference, you can find books on babbit bearings at Lindsay Technical Books, lindsaybks.com. Many of the books at Lindsay are reprints of old technical manuals and texts, from the era when babbit was widely used.

Go to your local library and see if they have the Fine Woodworking Series 1 to 8, it's kind of a best of F.W. magazine articles. In book one there is an article on babbit bearings how-to while you're at it check out the other seven books very interesting and informative.
Good Luck
