I went on the internet looking fo baby doll cradles and could not download any patterns. Does anyone out there have pattern for one?. I would like to make a few for C hristmas. Do you think I need a bandsaw to make one? Thanks for any help you can give.

Here is some pictures of a doll cradle that I make a lot of and give away to very special little girls that come through my life. 24" long 6" sides 9.25 wide at bottom with sides tilted at 10 degrees . 2 dado slots on bottom for rockers. I use 8 biscuits to attach sides to bottom and ends.
Dovetail, Just open Z3coupe's attachments and save in your documents. When you open that document you can zoom in to enlarge, then print copys on 1/4 inch graph paper.
To make a life sized pattern, using a soft pencil fill in the outlines from these prints on 1 inch square graph paper (You'll need several sheets taped together)
Then have the wood (pine/Cherry cut to correct rectangular size at Lowes. The curved details can be cut with a saber saw at home . Feel free to add or remove any curlicues to your liking.
Stein and thanx to Z3coupe.

Thanks for the info. I'm about as good with the computer as I am with the saw but I plan to give it my best shot. I have till Chrismas to work on this project.
Just to give you an alternative to Z3coupe's excellent design, here are a couple of pic's of my gift to my daughter on her fourth birthday. It's more traditional joinery, although Z3's description of the construction details could easily be applied to this or any design. Mine was 18" long and I think Z3's 24" length is probably a bit better. It will fit just about any doll the little girl in your life is likely to have.
