A while back, someone asked about a source for badger hair paint brushes for a finishing project. The “West Marine” stores are going out of business and I stopped at one the other day and found badger hair paint brushes at 30% off. Sorry, that particular store only had one left – and it’s mine.

Hopefully you were not mislead. Here is something from their web-site:
"Badger-like bristles have tip “flags” for smooth paint and varnish finishes."
Notice the "Badger-like". Their brushes are not pure Badger bristles.
West Marine has, as far as I know, only carried China Bristle brushes stained to look like Badger hair. Real badger hair brushes are extremely rare, if available at all commercially, and would be breathtakingly expensive if you could find them.
By the way, West Marine is closing some stores, the company is not going out of business. (It's common stock traded at over $5 a share yesterday.)
