Hello, recently bought a backsaw at a used tool shop for 2.99, i needed a user and it was in pretty good shape, the blade is 10″ long, 9tpi. the name on the saw is The Baker McMillen Company, Akron Ohio. There is a number on it that starts with a 5 but i can’t see the rest, it looks like it could say, No. 5.0 or 515, or something like that. does anyone have any information on this company or this saw? I have looked on the interenet but couldn’t find any information on it. Thanks, Dan.

I am from Akron, Ohio.
One of my older brothers worked for a Baker McMillen Co maybe 30 years ago( I was just a kid)
My recollection is not that they were tool makers-----but that they were a woodworking/furniture company.
that brother is now an over the road driver( Teamster)----or I would ask him for you.
I looked up Baker McMillen for you in the local phone book---if it's the same company they have moved just outside of akron into a suburb-----here is the phone number
