Considering 1/2 inch baltic birch plywood for sides and backs of Apothecary chest drawers. Can you get good results with half-blind dovetails using bb. Thanks

Usually there is a fair amount of router bit tearout of the Baltic birch but other than that you can use it for dovetailed drawer sides. A second problem on wide drawers is that the solid wood drawer face will expand and contract with seasonal moisture swings but the drawer sides won't, creating stress that can crack the face.

Regarding the movement issue, point well taken. Thanks
I use BB all the time for drawers and have put soild fronts up to 10" with no problems at all. I use finger joints most of the time.
You can, and I have done it -- but I thought they looked pretty crappy.

I'm doing a kitchen right now that calls for baltic birch drawers, why I didnt just buy them out.
I'm assuming the use of a jig here, so disregard if thats not what your doing.
The router bit doesnt score the wood because the fingers on the jig stick out to far.
I had a problem with a little tear out so I ran the sides over a table saw set up to score the wood. Only took a minute to do a boat load of them.
Everything went fine after that.
