I was cutting some 2 1/4 thick stock on the band saw. The blade started vibrating between the wheels inside the blade guard . The blade is 3/8 wide and that is where I had the tension set.
I readjusted the tension for a 1/2 blade and stopped the vibration, the blade is the blade that came with the saw.
Is this the right thing to do- If the blade vibrates it needs more tension?Should I check something else?
I would hate to screw up my new 14in Delta Band Saw
Thanks Ron

The tension guides on these smaller bandsaws are notoriously inaccurate. You were right on to adjust it until the flutter stopped (but not beyond that). One of the blade manufacturers (Suffolk Machinery, Timberwolf Blades) actually prescribes a flutter test for their "low-tension" blades.
