I amlooking for a bandsaw that will cut at least 12 inch thick material. I have heard some good things about EUROSHOP and LAGUNA. Are there any bad things (besides price) that I should consider? Is there another brand I should consider? It will be used mostly for re-sawing and cutting “green” bowl blanks.
Thanks for your input!!

Al take a look at the Canadian made General. Not the General International. I own one of their 20" bandsaws and love it. Fitted with bearing guides it will cut up to 14" in thickness. This saw isn't cheap but in my opinion is one of the best saw being made anywhere.
I will look into it...thanks!
Can you name a supplier for this Canadian made bandsaw?
Al take a look at their web site at http://www.general.ca. If you e-mail them I'm sure they can lead you in the right direction. Good luck.
I assume you must want something heavier duty than the Delta or JET with riser block. I use JET with riser for bowl blanks with a Timberline blade (very sharp and thin kerf) - works OK so far for although 7-8 inches is all I've done.
Does anyone have a Rigid Jointer? If so, what is your opinion?
Thanks!
Dino
If you just want to wack stumps you might try a Grizzley.
I have a 24" Laguna (5hp/3phase) and have been very happy with it, It has the power!
Sounds like a fun hunt.
Hi Al.. I can't tell ya about any except Delta and Laguna... I bought a 16in. Laguna about three years ago and have nothing but praise for it.. price wise, it isn't really any higher than a Delta after ya buy all the riser blocks ect. hope some one can give a word for you on the Euro...gabe
