Can a bandsaw motor  be direct coupled.

What RPM motor ?

I hve a Tosfert Inverter which changes my single phase power to three phase power, it can be slowed down if need be.

The unit I hve will hndle 7 1/2 amps (2 hp?)

The bandsaw is a 14″, I am making a “Hot Rod Slicer” with a Riser block equiped with a Carbide blade….

I would like to build a base with drawers, so need the motor gone from underneath….
