I am a newbie and just puchased a jet 14″ bandsaw w/ riser. I have been running the stock blade that came with the machine with no problem. I just bought a timberwolf 3-TPI 1/2″ blade and noticed it runs real rough. The problem seems to be coming from the weld. While under tension, I lined a straight edge up along the back of the blade where the weld is. There is about a 1/64″ gap right at the weld. As you move away from the weld in either direction, the gap gets smaller and is gone about 4 inches in either direction. It appears as if the back of the blades were not parallel when the blade was welded. Is this normal or should get with Suffolk to see about a replacement.

you should definitely call Suffolk for a replacement. I buy my blades from do all and they guarantee that back of the blade and tooth spacing at the weld are out no more than 0.001". a poor welding job will cause a lot of problems so by all means take it back. hope this helps
Yes it does.
I will call Suffolk and get a replacement.
Thanks
Called Suffolk and talked with Tom. Told him weld was out of square and he sent replacement blade. Installed blade and what a difference. Cuts anything I throw at it. Kudos to Suffolk for excellent customer service.
