Where are you located? Ask the people at the local woodworking tool stores. Woodcraft and Rockler sell them, you can buy them online or someone near you probably nakes them up as needed. They aren't necessarily expensive, but they will be a lot better than what came with your 0513 and my 0555. Look here for the pertinent threads(there are many).

Hey!, Thanks for all the info. You really helped on the bs (band saw) blades.
I live in the great state of Oregon, and am just starting up my woodworking shop. I am retired so funds are limited, but I just bought the wm 718 with spiral head. I have not received it yet, but will let you know what I think of it. I also just got my G1023s and have been setting it up. The good thing is I can work as much as I want or as long as my back holds up.
Thanks again everyone,
sappy
It's actually very common to have bandsaw blades "custom made." If you look at the pricing sheet of major blade makers such as Gschwind Group (Suffolk Machinery/Timber Wolf blades), the prices are laid out for (example) 84", 96", 108". If your blade is 93.5", you pay the 96" price. "All blades are custom welded to any length."
Your blades are 131.5", so you pay the 132" price, which for the various configurations they make cost between about $17 to about $27 (my catalog's old).
Suffolk's web site is
http://www.suffolkmachinery.com Give them a phone call, describe what kind of cutting you're doing and a blade length, and they'll help you pick out the best blade configuration to buy.

Oh, crikey! as the alligator man says. How the heck did I make that mistake. Gettin' old I guess. Anyway, thanks, I corrected the numbers up above.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)Another proud member of the "I Rocked With ToolDoc Club" .... :>)
Don't feel bad, I made the same mistake and I own one. Oh Well.

Thanks for the web site info. A lot of usefull info there. And yes, my blade length is 131.5"sappy
I have the same BS. I'll second what FG says. That's where I got my blades. The 102 will be the one you want. Give the folks at Suffolk machinery a call. They will sell you the blade you need not just the most expensive. They also have a special running if you buy 3 blades you can get a 4th free. Give them a call.

Bones, the 102" is the price point -- the blades are cut and welded at 101.5" (that's the listed blade length for that Grizzly saw).
Thanks for the link on the sale. I think I trashed my resaw blade, so time to get a new one (or two, or three).forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)Another proud member of the "I Rocked With ToolDoc Club" .... :>)
Hey Forestgirl,Now, if you go and buy a couple of new resaw blades, how am I going to convince you to resaw your spalted maple on my MM16?Seriously, I have a brand new 1" resaw blade that I consider disposable. As soon as it's done for, I plan to buy a Lenox carbide to replace it, as I would like to do some more resawing in the future.Tom
Hiya, Tom. Ooooo, can't slip anything past you, eh? I need to resaw alder for those little cube-bases (obviously not quite as thin though!). My saw has suddenly developed a vibration, and I suspect it happened when I cut some gnarly stuff on it awhile back. Probably bent the blade.
Guaranteed, when it comes time to slab out that spalted maple, I'll be headed your way. The utility trailer should fit just fine inside that parking area, LOL. You don't happen to have a nice froe mallet do ya? Too funny.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)Another proud member of the "I Rocked With ToolDoc Club" .... :>)
No problem on the link. Technically it's not a sale. That offer has been around since I bought mine back in the summer. Still not a bad deal. I ended up getting various sizes. The guy was nice on the phone. He even put the order in to ensure that the most expensive blade I needed was the free one. Good group to deal with.

Sappy,
Here's another vote for Suffolk Machinery. I took advantage of the Code 443 special as well. I got a 3/4", 3AS-S for resawing along with 3 other blades for different applications. The guy I spoke with asked me about my application for each blade, made a couple of suggestions and placed my order.

Yup, I have the same Grizzly and just got the blades from Suffolk too. I got the 3/4 AS-S for resawing and some smaller AS blades for thicker woods and green wood. So far I am happy with them. I had figured I would just drive over to get them, since the address is Long Island, but they told me due to problems with getting help and other issues they moved the actually shipping post to PA. So much for dropping by and just picking them up. But they are very helpful there and even ask which saw you have to they can confirm the correct size, 131.5.
Here's a tip for setting the guards on that saw, the upper red guard makes it very difficult to see the spacing on the rear bearing, so I unscrew the 2 bolts holding it to the arm and just move it up so the lower hole is now in the upper mount. it lets me see the rear bearing to set correctly. after you are done, just reset the guard to the correct setting. The lower guards are also a bit of a pain but you can loosen the right bold and rotate it a bit out of the way to see the rear bearing.
Good luck
Ed
Thanks for the helpfull tip. I haven't ordered my blades yet as the saw has been back ordered and won't be in for another six weeks. On your bs. do you have the Euro-style roller disc blade guides or the ball bearing guides??
sappy
The saw has 2 circular discs running on the sides and bearings for rear suport, on the top the bearing runs face touching the blade and on the bottom it runs with the edge running against the rear of the blade. Not sure why they did not have the same arrangement for both. They give hex keys and a wrench for adjustments, but it is very difficult to reach the rear support bolt on the bottom with the hex, I use a longer one for that. They are metric. I think they just sold a lot of those saws before the Jan 1 price increase, I know a few people who jumped in right before the deadline, I sure did. Its a big crate, 20 x 30 x 80, about 460 lbs. so be prepared. Good luck
Ed
