started doing some bandsaw boxes about a month ago. Lois Keener Aurora patterns and her book were major benefit. started using more exotic materials, Padauk, Zebrawood, Brazilian Rosewood. Thought I’d post couple pics to see what others think.

I like the boxes, Butch, would would suggest losing the hot-pink background. Nice job with the monogram too!

I must agree on the background. Actually the blanket is more red, but under the influence of camera flash it does turn out a rather nausious pink, doesn't it. I'll have to get the latest one of Zebrawood posted as soon as I get the finish completed.

NICE work..Zebrawood?? Geee a hunk that big could cost ya ALOT!
Yes, about $11.00 bf. Box only takes about 2.5-3 BF. That box will sell for min $150, perhaps more. I'm fortunate in that I don't need the income to live on. My "real job" supports me quite well. The woodworking has always been a dedicated hobby for me. The fact that I can sell some of what I make and turn sufficient profit to justify new tools (toys) and keeps me happy, is all a bonus.
I'm a real fan of the exotics, like the Brazilian Rosewood. The grain patterns that are produced using the grain matching technique are fantastic, and just don't get quite the same dramatic with domestic hardwoods. Though a nice piece of Black Walnut with some sapwood is pretty nice as well.
