I’m considering the purchase of a Delta 14 in. bandsaw and am wondering how they operate with a height attachment as compared to without. None of the tool reviews I have read deal with this.

I noticed is almost no difference after adding the height block. The delta's are a bit underpowered for really thick resawing, but as an occasional thing it will work fine, and not be adversely impacted on the kinds of things you could do without the extra height.
Thanks for your thoughts on the hleijght extender for the Delta bandsaw, three others also had positive words to say so I guess I have my answer.

I added the height block before turning mine on. I did not even have to adjust tracking. I was amazed & impressed. As to resawing, the purpose of the height block, I have had some success & some difficulty. I don't quite know why at this time. I have 1.5hp & used proper resawing blades. That is my experience. LOL!

I used mine for about 2 years before finally adding the riser block. Was apprehensive about possibly having some kind of problem, but nope! Can't tell any difference, except I can get more sizes of wood through, LOL!

I too own a 14in Delta BS, I didnt buy the riser block for a year and finaly got one. I took the opertunity to buy new blades from Sulfolk Machinery, the Timberwolf blades. I had heard quite of talk about them, boy did it make using the bandsaw enjoyable again. It was fustrating before, no drift at all. You might give them a try.
