Sometime last year I happened across a small classified-type ad in FWW (or maybe not!) from what looked like a one-man outfit that was making a folding resaw sled for use with a bandsaw. It consisted of several folding sections of track, along which rolled a carriage with a neat arrangment of holddown dogs (for ripping/jointing, etc), and some sort of indexing fence arrangment (for resawing).
I’ve finally decided I want to buy one, but I can’t find my literature, or my old web links.
Does anyone out there know who/what I’m talking about?
Better still, has anyone bought one? I have a decently tuned 20″ Jet saw, onto which I’ve stuffed a 5HP motor, and some custom Carter guides. I have pretty good dust collection in my shop.
What I hope to do with the thing pretty much reads straight from the (misplaced) sales literature, but it would be nice to hear from an owner to see how well it works. I’d like to:
-Put a relatively straight edge on long pieces of stock prior to jointing & ripping.
-Efficiently gang-rip stacks of stock for molding.
-Use my bandsaw as a mini sawmill, to resaw 3-4′ chunks of stuff like applewood
– Resaw 8-foot green pine logs that have been roughed flat on one or two sides with a chainsaw mill.
I’m sure my saw is beefy enough for the first three tasks, but I’m wondering about the fourth. Any input would be appreciated; my memory is that the tool costs about $1100, and I’d hate to waste it.
Thanks,
Tony

Tony I use my 2hp bandsaw for sawing up 12"x12" birch squares all the time. I bought a 10' section of rollers used in a super market and cut them in two 5' sections. I then fasten a section to both the front and back and adjust the two sections for blade drift and saw away. Pine should be a lot easier to resaw then birch.
