So I inherited my Dad’s Delta (BS100) table top bandsaw. Dad never really used it much at all. I mounted it to a cabinet with coasters and bolted it down tight. I replaced the blade with a brand new Bosch blade. It shakes so bad I cannot use it. Can someone please tell me what is the deal with this thing? Dad had it mounted to a metal stand when he had it. I seriously doubt it ever did this when Dad had it. Here is a link to the video of what its doing.

Looks like something is out of balance.
Try running it without a blade.
If it vibrates without a blade then your bottom wheel or motor are the cause of the problem. If so, remove the drive belt from the motor and try again.
Do the wheels spin freely, does one of the other have a heavy spot (will always drop to the bottom) Are the wheels loose or the tyres damaged?
Try a different blade as sometimes blades are not brazed straight.
It's hard to tell without being there. I suppose that it is possible that one of the wheels is out of balance. Does it seem that the shaking is in sync with the wheel rotation? Try taking the blade off and run it briefly to see if it shakes without the blade. If it does, that may mean that you can eliminate the non-driven wheel as a problem. Is it belt driven or direct driven. If belt, check it carefully or just replace it with a new one. They will get hard and stiff with age and lack of use. Also, check the pulleys (if it has them) to make sure they are running smoothly and straight.
If you look up this model on Amazon and read the comments, you will find one comment stating that the wheels are out of round. You might check that on yours. I don't know what the fix would be other than replacing them or taking them to a machinist. Either would probably cost more than the machine is worth.
The cyclical scraping noise being heard is possibly the blade rubbing on the blade guide. A steady vibration with a blade guard noise like this suggest to me at least one wheel is out of round or the blade is kinked. The rubber tire should help somewhat control a slightly imperfect wheel casting if the tire itself is in decent shape. If the saw was stored for an extended period with the blade tensioned then for sure the tires are no longer smooth. Storing under tension causes bandsaw wheel tire flat spots.
If the vibration goes away with the blade removed then the most I would try is replace the tires on both wheels and then install a new blade. Anything more and you would be into looking for a new machine because of the cost.
Thanks everyone. I removed the brand new blade and it runs perfectly smooth. So, I guess I need to replace the tires? My Dad stored it for many years with the tension on the blade. Any suggestions on where to find tires for the particular saw?
Possibly but I suggest some more detective work. All you have proved is it is not the lower wheel out of balance or drive side. Could be the upper wheel or the blade was bad.
Do you have the old blade? Put it on see if still does it. That would eliminate the blade.
Do you see any issues with the tires? Spin it by hand, do you see any wobble in the height of the tires?
What about the upper wheel? Do see an wobble when you spin it?
It might very well be the tires but you're jumping to conclusions unless you see more than you are telling us.
yes, it does the same thing with the old blade as well. The top wheel doesn't wobble or anything. When I spin it my hand I can see a very slight dip in the tire. The rim seems to be true so with what all has been said so far, I am hopeful new tires will fix it. Either way, the tires are old and the new ones were not expensive so it's worth a try. Otherwise, I have told you everything i see going on with it. If it is not the tires, I have no clue what else could be wrong. I am also going to replace the drive belt, it feels rather aged and hard.
Many replacement options are available for the BS100 saw. I just tried a "Google" search for BS100 tires and several options showed up. Most online bandsaw blade retailers also sell routine wear parts for common bandsaws.
Good luck and have fun...it will be worth the effort to fix it!
If you are going to replace the belt, you might consider a link belt. They are very smooth and quiet. I haven't seen any significant difference between the one that HF sells and the more expensive ones. I've got both.
Well, my patience has run out with this POS! I have replaced the blade and both tires and still the same BS. I've already spent $40 bucks on a machine that's not worth 10 cents.
If anyone has any ideas, please share, otherwise in a couple days, it is going in the garbage dumpster where it belongs!

I had one of those a long time ago. My solution was the dumpster. It didn't have the issues yours does, but it was impossible to get square edge cuts. Not even close. Just crap.
I picked up a Craftsman 12 inch bandsaw off Craigslist for the same price the little Delta was, and it was 1,000 times the machine.
That is precisely what I am thinking. In my experience, anything from china, Taiwan, or Vietnam is garbage!
Sorry you spent the money and sorry to chime in after you already did. Grizzly's 9" often wins the bake-offs if you want a very small saw. I got a killer deal on the Rikon 10-305 when the 10-306 came out and retailers were clearing out old stock. I bought a used Craftsman 12" for $80 that worked well after a bit of love. Options are out there. I just don't think the BS100 is one of them.
For anything except resawing, that Craftsman 12 inch is a fine little machine. They made a billion of them, so they are available and cheap. I made a lot of furniture when I had one. The difference between it and my Laguna is night and day, of course. But starting out, on a budget, I highly recommend it.
Thanks John. I will also look at that one.
Thank you for the info. I will check into the Rikon and Grizzly. It really irritates me, I was about to start a project when I discovered this issue. Oh well, I will hopefully find a deal on either of those you mentioned.
