Bandsaw vibration on power down
I’m having a problem, or at least a perceived problem with my 14″ Delta Bandsaw. The saw is a 28-206 which from several reviews, sometimes suffers from vibration problems. This is a brand new saw with the dealer installed blade on it. I checked to make sure the wheels are co-planer, and they are. The guides and thrust bearing all have been adjusted.
There is no problem with vibration while powering up and using to cut wood; the vibration happens when the saw is powered down, similar to a harmonic at a certain speed as it happens somewhere in the middle of the slowdown cycle.
I have been following a similar post regarding the same problem with a TS. Would any of the suggestions on that thread apply?
Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

You're probably right that it's a harmonic vibration at a specific rpm. The slow down is far more gradual than ramping up under power, so the harmonic period lasts long enough to be noticed. Try adjusting belt tension up or down to see if that affects it, and as a last resort, use a segmented belt. They're supposed to be great for this kind of thing. Actually, if it doesn't occur while using the saw, I wouldn't consider it to be a problem.
Two secrets to keeping your wife happy:
1. Let her think she's having her own way.
2. Let her have her own way.
I had the same problem with my old Rockwell 14. Try to run it without the belt and see if it still has the problem and then the belt on no blade, etc. and you can see where the problem is by adding moving parts. The link belt can really help on vibration.

We just recently had the same complaint from a customer and found that the units from Delta are coming in with loose motor securing bolts and nuts. The weight of the motor will get the saw running but when there is a sudden slow down in speed the motor shakes like crazy. Open the front door and shake the motor upward, I'll bet you will find that it is loose.

Right on! That's EXACTLY the problem.
Thank you very much! Problem solved.
