Western Tool Supply in Anaheim [Ball road across from Ganahl Lumber] is selling everything with no sales tax tomorrow Saturday Aug 25. I don’t know if other Western Tool locations are doing the same.
I’m going to pick up the Bosch 2.25HP fixed base/plunge router kit with free edge guide for $219 and no tax.
Also featuring Festool demos all day and free hot dogs and soft drinks around noon.

Thanks for the post. While that sounds great my tool budget for the year has already been spent. I'm tapped out.
So that's what, 7.25% off?
Gee, I think most people would rather have a 10% off sale. But since most people hate taxes, the "No Sales Tax" sale will probably work as well at kicking up business, and save the store 2.75%.
Gotta love the retailer. I always figured a guy could have a store called, "The TAX FREE ZONE", or something similar, boost the price by the tax rate, not show any tax on the receipt, and have people knocking down the doors.
Let me know how the sale crowd looks.
7.75% savings on everything in a store where prices are usually lowest around and the tools are displayed where you can get your hands on them before you buy. Bosch 2.25HP router kit for $219 with edge guide included was a special bargain and don't forget the free hot dogs and cokes.Attendance was not great, though.BruceT
"The TAX FREE ZONE", that’s an outstanding idea/gimmick. Initially it would probably get somebody a lot of business. From a practical standpoint I’d love to know exactly what I was paying before I went through the checkout line. How is this for an idea? - A gas station that charges $2.79 or whatever price with no “.9” at the end. I’ve often thought they use the “.9” system to make it more difficult for people to know when their pumps are inaccurate.
"or something similar, boost the price by the tax rate, not show any tax on the receipt, and have people knocking down the doors."That would be great but if the tax isn't shown and the buyer is audited, the IRS will burn them for the tax and the same for the seller. I had a customer who's a tax lawyer.

Bruce,
The local Western Tool (44 miles away) in NH doesn't have any tax anytime. No sales tax here!

A Woodworkers mind should be the sharpest tool in the shop!
What a great state New Hampshire is. No sales tax and liquor stores in highway rest stops!

I was camping near Eau Claire a couple of years ago and when we went into a little town one night, right on the main drag was a combination liquor store/gun dealer. What a great place!
