Greetings:
I thought I would attach a few pics of a vanity I’m building for our master bath. The frame is 1 5/8″ European Beech. I used my Festool Domino for all the M&T work. There are about 44 joints with over half being double tenons. The side panels and doors (not shown) are 3/4″ ship lapped with dry dominoes top and bottom to hold the panels in place; to allow for movement, I used the wider slot setting in the rails. After cutting the pieces and thinking through where to place the joints, it took about 2 hours to make all the joints. Because I used the standard preset sets wherever possible, many of the parts were cut without marking and proved to be interchangeable because of the repeatability inherent in the machine.
Doors and drawers will be inset.
I will finish in an opaque lacquer tinted by Sherwin Williams to an off-white.
The shop cabinet that can be seen in the background was my first-ever project and was done to hone the skills needed to make my kitchen cabinets (see Gallery). It is made of poplar, finished in post cat lacquer. The top is hard maple. It’s basically a double drawer unit mounted on wheels.

Very nice, interesting to see it at this point and look forward to finished pictures. New vanities and remodeling of the master bath is on schedule for us right after the first of the year. New showers and tile is the boring part, really looking forward to the vanities. I love being in the shop, hate remodeling on site (hard to tile that shower in the shop and move it though).
