I’m looking to purchase a new 3+ hp fixed base router to use with a Jessem lift in a new router table I’m building. Narrowed it down to the P.C. 7518 or the Milwaukee 5625-20.
Anybody using either of these with a lift? Can you share your feedback/experience?

I have the Jessem Master table with lift, and have the PC 7518 in it. It's designed for the 7518, so it works beautifully. You take the motor out of the base, and lock it into the lift. All bit changes are above the table!!!!! That was the main factor for me. Besides, the 7518 gives me all the power I need for most routing jobs.

I also have the 7518 in my Jessem and am very happy with the performance.

I have the 7518 in the Jessem Router Lift. Even though I am just a hobbyist, and probably have not been that demanding of it, it works flawlessly for me. I've had lawnmowers with less power. I also got the Bench Dog power switch and attached it to the fence...great addition. It is much safer and easier with the power switch right there.
I'm sure the Milwaukee is also a fine choice, but as another poster said, the Router Lift was made for the 7518.
5625 has built-in lift
Thanks for the comments.
I should clarify that I purchased the Jessem lift that is designed to be used with just about any router. (I think it's model 02001).
I'm aware that the Milwaukee has a built in mechanism that raises & lowers the router, but I wanted something more precise, which the Jessem appears to be.
As far as not needing a lift, that's purely subjective. I've owned & used router tables for almost 20 years without one, & have made due. However, I've also used some very well designed tables with lifts, & it made the job easier. So when the time came to build a new table for myself, I decided there were 2 must haves: an accurate, easily adjustable fence that I could attach accessories to, & a good lift.
Thanks again for the input.
Well, Metod, sorry I haven't gained much insight or sophistication.
Apparently anyone who doesn't do things your way doesn't measure up.
If you read my post, you'll see that I was asking for specific opinions on two different models of routers. I wasn't asking for advise on whether or not to use a lift, as I've already decided to incorporate one into my table.
As they say, opinions are like a particular part of the body: everybody has one. So unless you have an opinion on the router(s) I'm considering, why not let this drop. I'm really not interested in this turning into another thread where you simply pass judgement on others, & offer no real insight.
Hey Greg,Normally, I would pass on this thread, as I can only second what other's have said about the Jessem Master Lift. But, I'm so impressed with it's performance, that I had to jump in and add my support for the Jessem.I bought mine from Rockler, so it's blue instead of red (no political preference espoused).Tom
Thanks, Tom. I looked around a bit at different lifts, & decided I liked the Jessem best, based on fit & feel, & also others positive experiences. Happened across one on ebay a couple weeks ago, & got it for less than a hundred bucks, so even more reason to like it!
Now if only I could find a screamin' deal on the router for it. ;)
Ha! Greg, this reminds me of the posts when someone asks about experience with "x" and the next post is " I don't have an "X" but..........".
No harm done. Thanks.
