Sarge,
Any luck with the BC SAW blades yet. I have my 18″ bandsaw in a holding pattern waiting for your analysis.
Thanks,
Jeff

Morning Jeff...
I will call today to order one if they are reasonably priced and they have what I'm looking for. I ship a lot to Canada and am aware of the customs charges and UPS actually charges a fee for expediting the packages through customs that is tacked on to shipping. I don't know if that is reversd coming from there to here?
I've been extremely busy both at work and in the shop when I get home. I work 4 days and week and am off tomorrow, so I will have an opportunity to call an check them out.

Morning Jeff...
It appears that you have to e-mail B C Saw to find out if they carry the blades I want in 137" as they are not listed. Also.. the site starts the bi-metal blades at 3/4" width?
B C request the e-mail only for inquires, I suppose to keep their sales lines geared for sales instead of tied up with questions. I understand that as I work for a company that receives over 2000 calls a day. We have an extension for tech support and customer service-returns to keep from backing up traffic on the sales lines.
Patiently awaiting a reply on whether they have 137" available.. how much in U.S. dollars and if there is a brokerage fee on the receiving end for clearing customs?
Let you know what happens as soon as it does as I am off for the next 3 days and will be in the shop for most of that.

Morning woodman...
I'm getting ready to go to work and as of this moment, I have not recieved an e-mail reply from B C Saw on the inquiry from Friday morning. ? I will wait another day as perhaps.. ?.. they are busy or under-manned in the e-mail department.
We shall see........

Thank-you Sarge!

Morning woodman...
After a 2nd e-mail Tuesday and no response, I'm beginning to think they are not going to respond? ha.. ha...
At this point, I am going to withdraw my decision to be the voluntary "guinea pig" as it doesn't look promising that I am going to have the opportunity. It may be the best band-saw blade made, but I still don't even know if they make it in my BS length requirement and looks as if I will never know?
So.... good luck if you pursue the quest!

Sarge, Give them a call, 888-251-2236. They supply excellent blades, may not be too good at answering email. I've always dealt with them by phone and gotten great service, even if they talk a little funny! Rich
Afternoon Rich...
I am not an e-mail person by nature, but their site more or less gave you the impression that that phone # was for ordering? It requests any questions you have to be e-mailed to one of those little click on "thingies" (as you can tell I'm not overly computer saavy either :>)..), so I did.
I think I will give them a call to see if they will make 137" blades, which I feel certain they will. I understand that they would like to keep the lines open for sales if at all possible as we do at our company. But I will give them a call Monday.
Even a pure sales rep should be able to answer my simple questions on blade length and if there is a brokerage fee charged by UPS or whatever carrier they use. Come to think of it, you could possibly answer that particular question if you are in the U.S. and order from them.
Not worried about the talking funny, as I am used to it. I speak to an average of 10 Canadians customers a day at my company 4 days a week, some speaking basically French; especially from Quebec. It's a dead give-away if you ask for a zip code and the customer starts with a alphabetical letter. There postal code is 6 digits and consist of letter-number-letter-number-etc. And when they state they have a 78 Zed 28 Camaro.. or ask for a "deck-al" instead of decal (de-cal as we say). And then there's the old "expirary date" on a credit card instead of experation date. ha... ha...
I enjoy working with them on their muscle car needs and they usually voice sincere appreciation for my assist!
