Beauty Inside a freshly milled Texas Cedar Elm Log
So we recently milled a salvaged Cedar Elm on our Woodmizer WM1000. The color and figure is quite spectacular. I want to share with others who may be curious.
We actually did a complete video with close-ups. We’ve got a large TX burl mesquite that we’ll be cutting in February and will also share a video.

I want to be clear that this is something we do purely for fun. Only a few get to peek into the heart of a freshly milled log so I thought I would be nice to document for others to reference. We’ll keep putting together these videos if people think it is interesting!! My goal is to have a huge library of videos by 2021 for people to reference. We are not paid, sponsored or take any advertising dollars whatsoever. Purely, a personal passion for the love of saving trees across Texas!!
Let me know what you think. If you have any suggestions on what you’d like to see, let me know. I’m not video expert….that’s for sure!!
Safe woodworking!

I'm lucky enough to live near TexasUrbanSawmill and went to see them this week. I found a live edge walnut slab I will be using for a queen bed headboard. I'm anxious to get started on it. They have loads of slabs - many of them really big - plus huge rounds for coffee tables.
Hey Jim! Great meeting you & the wife. We should have your walnut headboard ready for pick-up as soon as tomorrow. Thanks for the kind words!
