Hi,
could I get a few ideas/opinions on what sort of headboard (design/how to attach it) I could use on
a bed such as this : http://www.cocobolo.de/massivholzbett-hiddensee.htm
but I’d like something nicer than what is shown on that web page. I want a headboard which is not plain vertical.

Are you ruling out a headboard tenoned into posts?
Hi Don,
As you can see from the web page I mentioned, the bed comes together by
crossing the frame members which have slots in them, so I'm building
on this design i.e. I need to build onto that one frame member which
is located where the headboard would be. On the web page I mention,
they just add a headboard - as far as I can see/imagine from other beds I've
seen, the vertical posts are just screwed at two points to the frame member.
Not sure if I'm wrong, but this doesn't "feel" as if it is very strong for leaning
against.
I was wondering whether I could just build on the frame member where the headboard
would normally be (would the slots take it) and what design / construction could
I use to get a curved headboard
To my mind the concept has problems. The headboard would apply significant leverage to the head rail if one leans against it to read in bed. I would expect the headboard would have to be against a wall to accept the force applied by one leaning against it. Just my thought.
