I’ve finally completed a desk i’ve been working on, and decided to try out Behr’s water based poly for the finish. Label recommends a minimum of three coats, I just finished the second, and noticed the can’s almost empty. The problem is that the product has been discontinued by the manufacturer and I can’t find any left in the stores.
Are there any other brands of water-based ploy which would be compatible? Is compatibility an issue? Should I stop at two coats and hope for the best? Should I take the finish off and start from scratch? Should I stop banging my head against the wall? Any opinions?
thanks

mmags - one thing I try to do is always alternate sides of my head when headbanging (I built a jig and that helps since I do this task often). - jb
*Compatibility between water-based finishes shouldn't be an issue. As long as you scuff sand the last coat of Behr's with some fine grit paper (320, 400..depending on how smooth your finish already is) the next coat should stick with no problem.
