Anyone know about these old beasts? I saw one at a garage sale for $100 without the motor but wasn’t too interested. Just did a bit of research and found an old catalog that also lists a jointer top for it so it would join 12″ which WOULD interest me. So, anyone know about parts and whatnot for these?

anyone? Or is this thing to old for anyone here to even remember it?
I remember them well but never saw a jointer top for it. They used to be advertised in Popular Mechanics for $250 minus motor. PM bought them out at one point.
Man!!!! That's an old model with the jointer top... http://www.owwm.com/PhotoIndex/detail.asp?id=1666
I seriously doubt parts are available for that model. Supposed to be from the 20's!

I spoke with someone at Belsaw today and it isn't a 905 but a 910 for which is still more or less a current machine. Another great used tool to add to my bargain basement, not bad for $100!
I am doing up a new shop and as I am moving my tools realized how many old Craftsman tools I do have. 6" Jointer for $40, 8" table saw $25, 10" table saw with Beismeyer fence $150, 6x48 belt sander $35, 8x30 lathe $40. The only new tool I have is a full size Delta I paid $450 for. My shaper is a used Jet I traded for and my taiwan bandsaw was given to me.
Shops can be built for little money if you are patient and can tell good rust from bad!

I remember the Foley planers and to the best of my knowledge they were okay. Foley currently makes sharpening equipment for reel mowers (I am a turf farmer) and are very good. It is worth checking to see if parts are still available for the planer you are looking at.
