Wondering what anyone may know or have to say regarding the apparently new (difficult to find) Fisch 6×12 sander. Considering the Shop Fox 10″ also. Don’t have any personal experience with either brand except for Fisch mortising bits. I’m aware that Shop Fox is Grizzly’s retail arm and I guess that concerns me a bit. The Fisch unit looks great! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Didn't Dennis get one last fall at the WWing show. Do a search that goes back that far. I seem to remember him posting several pictures and providing his $.02

Hi Forest Girl,
Took your advice and found Dennis' posting. His two cents was helpful.

Hi FG
I saw your name listed over at the Just Woodworking site.
I tried to subscribe and their computer wouldn't take me.
I tried to call their phone number and was told it didn't work.
I emailed them and so far haven't heard back.
If you come up with another phone number for them (not the one listed
in their contact them spot) let me know.
I know I'm no computer wiz, but this is rediculous.

Tried to register at 1:15 AM EST. Told me nickname Sarge was eroneous. ha..ha.. Well, guess I'll get some eroneous sleep as I gotta get up at 9 AM. If I have too, I'll get the First Lady help me in. She knows this stuff inside out. It just cost me big to ask for help, though. You know how those Pa. girls are. ha..ha..

Hi Sarge,
Thanks for the reply. I did take FG's advice and did a search for Dennis' post. Appeared from what he said that he was pretty happy with it. Thanks again!
Steve
Take a look at the Delta 6inch belt, 12 inch disc. I bought one last year after doing a fair amount of research and actually going to see one (that really made a difference). The machine is quite hefty and comes with a very good stand. I'm not a fan of Delta products, but this is one good tool. My second choice was the two-speed Grizzly, but I couldn't find anybody close who had one and I've since seen some unfavorable comments about the product line which caused me to look a little more. The Delta ain't cheap, but it's a workhorse and a well thought out design, easy to use and maintain. Heavy.
Jim,
Thanks so much for your input. I've seen the Delta you mentioned and I'm sure it's a very good machine. I have several Delta machines and am quite pleased with them all. If money was not an issue that's the one I'd really like to have. But, you know, things have tightened up since I purchased most of my (now aging) equipment. So I'm afraid I must settle for what I can afford. Thanks again!
