I have a Jet JSG-6 belt/disc sander. A chronic problem is keeping the belt adjusted despite following the manual’s instruction. The company rep recommended new sanding belts. After 3-5 days the same problem reoccurs. I finally took off the belt and just use the 12″ disc sander. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.

Cheap belts could be a problem. If it's new I would keep after Jet technical to fix it. Is there enough of a crown on the idler drum?I've put a few layers of electrical tape on a small sander to correct the crown issue. It's fixable.
Thanks for your suggestion to build a crown with electricians tape. The idler drum did not come with a crown. It is not a new sander. I tried making a crown with the tape and now the belt stays 1/2 on with the "door" left open. At least now I can use 1/2 of the belt until I get a new one from Jet.
