I want info on bending Baltic plywood. My plan is to join 2 peices of 1/4″ or 3/8*” plywood with fastners and have a offset of about 1″ on each of the 2 pieces of plywood to accomidate a wheel. The offset will be approx. 8″ from the end of a 20″ piece of plywood. I don’t want to use “Bendy Plywood” because the bend will not be perminent and I am concerned about the structural strength of the “Bendy Plywood”. Len Short, [email protected]

You could sand or plane off a ply or two from one side only to a crossband , before you glue them together, this will usually work for curves while retaining it's structural integrity .
good luck dusty
Thanks for the suggestion.
*****Use an odd number of layers.**** NOT an even number of plys. Use thinner layers; 1/16 or 1/8. Use a mold to form it (vacuum veneering press) or a shaped mold and matching caul (clamps). Try several different degrees of bend before bending the money stuff because springback makes the final shape less bent (unpredictable.)
I've also had good luck bending thicker plys wet and letting them dry; then, bonding them together on a mold.
