I ‘guess’ I need some additional clamps. Don’t we always? I have a wide variety and a ggodly quantity of clamps but it seems I turn the the good old reliable Jorgensen Pony clamps most often.
But after a quick search the Bessey “H” clamps look pretty good. I’m tempted. Has anyone had experience with them? Or – are there any other suggestions?

not a Bessy fan
I bought some bessy spring clamps and some quick grip clamps. I wish I hadn't they are not good. Maybe the H clamps are better. I'd buy one first to see if you like it before buying a bunch.
Let me know how you like it. I need more clamps too. I'm partial tto the Jorgenson "I" beam clamps. They are some serious clamps.

djeoffroy,
Sorry but this forum is not for commercial use.

I really appreciate this type of support on this forum. Thanks for monitoring and I hope that you will stay.
Call me a spoiled candy hasp but
I have come to appreciate clamps that are happy standing on their end. Expensive but I just don't tend to like clamps that don't do this. I have some Pony pipe clamps but don't like them much in general.
Ah
Cabinet masters ! I've got them too. I also have Bessy K's and Jets. Seems like when ever I get set on one brand, the other brands add a new qwerk I like. Especially the Jet parallel which won't slam down on a finger. But the price jumped terribly.
Not a fan of H-Clamps
Frosty,
I had a couple of H Clamps, but I traded them to a fellow woodworker for a pair of Harbor Freight 1/2" pipe clamps and 20' of pipe. Money wise, I took a hit, but in the utility department, I made out like a bandit; I just didn't like the H-clamps and they sat unused for years. Clamps are one place I like quantity over quality. Pony clamps are high quality and low cost, so there is no compromise. My favorite clamps are 1/2" pipe clamps I bought at Odd Lots for $2.99.

I misread the question
All,
I misread the original question. It was Bessy K body clamps that I traded away and that I do not like. It was not until I read Frosty's reply to the Bessy representative that I understood my error. Not only have I not used the H clamps, I had never heard of them until now.

Thanks Dusty,
I hadn't thought of contacting him off-line but I suppose I was too offended by a "Tool Rep" lurking and blatantly asking for an opportunity to give a personalized sales pitch.
If this one succeeded, I can only imagine the number of other tool reps hanging around here.
Frosty
why would you be offended. perhaps the fellow is a woodworker and visits this board also and wanted to help you. or perhaps he has a friend whio visits this board and commented that there was someone whining about his clamps on here and wanted to correct the problem. it never hurts to hear anyone out. you may learn something or he may learn something that they didn't realize was a problem a nd would like to resolve it
ron
and I don't have any of those clamps
Frosty , if you look back we have and have had tool company / makers onboard all along , various saw blade companies as well as custom makers like Marcou .
We can all learn from the product knowledge they have , who knows !

Lurking ?
I've been lurking six years ! I work counter sales and as a tech rep. for Eagle America. And I do "sort of" promote some products and they are only the ones I would purchase myself or have purchased. Do I now dare mention any names like Freud, Festool, DeWalt, Porter Cable, Jet, Eagle Bits, Jorgensen, Bessy, Olsen, Forrest . etc.etc. just because I work at a place that sells them ?
I love and use tools a lot, and hopefully give out some good usefull information.
I think Mr. Bessy may have just wanted good user feedback on product evaluation. Every Company enjoys feedback so they can improve their products, or advise on user error (sorry about that) but there is a lot of it.

To all who posted - I replied to a direct-email as you will see below. I hope this clears the air. - Frosty
Danette,
I am sorry if I stepped on your toes. If you look at my Profile, you will see that I've participated here for over 7 years. Over that time there have been many instances when someone attempted to insert a 'sales program' into this user chat-room/forum. They were universally asked to leave, or electronically excluded by the administrator.
As the original post was mine, I felt I was the appropriate one to respond to you and your use of the company Logo, rather than a personal photo or something of that sort. I am opposed to this wonderful site becoming a "crowded highway lined with billboards offering SawStop, Panasonic, Delta, Steel City, Laguna, Bosch". I give you credit for being upfront about your identity and purpose. Thank you.
Every now and then someone will report on a new purchase: Sarge on Steel City or others on Marcou planes; often on good or bad service from a supplier. I once reported on my new Laguna bandsaw - primarily because there had been quite a few negative comments about Laguna. I felt some balance was needed and received a negative blast for my efforts. You can't win.
Sure I would like to try new clamps free of charge - but not if the requirement is to report on my reactions. Please count me out.
As a peace offering I will say that I have a goodly collection of Bessey K-body clamps and use them for all of my larger glue-ups. I also, as someone posted earlier, like to stand the glue-up on end. It saves space and allows me to examiine both sides for squeeze out.

To everyone who participated in this thread,
As you know already, I am from Bessey Tools, but I am not a sales rep. I am one representative from our North American head office who loves and believes in our products and are VERY interested in hearing what is being said about our products.
Bessey is NOT interested in turning your forums into platforms for us to sell to you. We do not want to ‘lurk’ (sounds like a dirty word, doesn’t it?) behind the scenes. We would like the opportunity to participate in your conversations if we feel we have something useful or helpful to contribute. We will always identify ourselves so you know who you are talking to. We have technical support available if needed. One thing we do know about these forums is people are honest about their opinions, so we will give you all the same respect and be honest with you! You may not like our products, but we want to earn your respect and trust of our presence.
This thread was my very first venture into a forum chat, and it was NOT my intention to hijack it, so I would like to offer all the posters to this thread a chance to try some of our H-clamps free of charge, no risk to you. Love’em, hate’em, write about them, don’t write . . . .no worries, just try them. So, if you choose to, please feel free to email me
[email protected]
Thank you all, sincerely.

bessy clamps
To All,
I just recieved a sample assortment of clamps from Danette, the nice person from Bessy. I agreed to offer an unbiased evaluation in exchange for the clamps. Fair enough!
Once I get some use out of them I'll let you know what I think.
