So I am just finishing up some American cherry cabinets that have continuous grain drawer fronts and tops for our office, and it is that time that we all dread.. finishing. I am still pretty new to finishes but I since I have access to a nice spray booth and all of that I am wanting to go with a lacquer. But after doing just doing a bit of research and asking others I am completely lost of what kind of lacquer would be the best for this project. I am wanting something that is not going to make the wood more yellow and I want one that is durable, and easy to apply. Any help is appreciated!!!

Lacquer is too clear and character less on cherry, for me, anyway. But it is nice protection.
Shoot a coat or two of dewaxed shellac, such as zinsser sealcoat. It really brings out the character of cherry. Then spray a coat or two of lacquer on top for durability. That's what I do with cherry, except I use water based poly instead of lacquer.
Cab acrylic Lacquer is light stable and non yellowing. Sherwin Williams usually has it in stock. It is solvent based and easy to apply.
The acrylic lacquer from Target Coatings is a great product.
Water based and easy clean up.
Great thanks! I think I’ll go with the cab acrylic lacquer from Sherwin williams. Any special tips and or tricks for application or use?
