Any opinions on the best of the mobile bases currently available for stationary tools — especially for a Unisaw with an extension table?
Most of my stuff is set up with a bases from HTC or Shop Fox.
But I have a friend who is setting up a new shop, and I wonder if there are any better bases available since I bought mine years ago.

n, just renovated a right tilt with an upgraded 50" unifence, a bies long side table, a htc 4' roller bed for the rear and a new delta base of the proper size. The best prices were amazon,no s&h, no tax.
The base replaces the old 1985ish htc base that had only a short triangle -one wheel under the motor side with a screw down blunt bolt to jam the slot in the tire centers as a lock. The iron was super but the geometry, wheels and loading was poor. I will use it for lighter duty by building a casework over it for bench sanding tools ie. belt/disc, oscillating post and 1" belt all with fixed dust piping.
I looked at every site that had the words mobile base on it and concluded that the delta was the best to use for these saws. It moves pretty easy for this old fart considering the serious weight involved- good wheels. All the best, Paddy
I like this one from Woodcraft for $60; you supply 3/4" plywood. I have my 350lb hybrid TS on it.

-Easy and quick assembly.
-Very sturdy.
-Rolls easily and is easy to steer.
-Rolls front-back, [unlike Delta that rolls side-side], making it suitable for a tool that gets pushed back against the wall when not in use.
-Foot pedals let it down onto two fixed [but adjustable] front feet, so it doesn't depend on notoriously unreliable wheel brakes to keep from wandering under pressure.
My Unisaw (with extension table) has a mobile base from Delta that was specifically made for the Unisaw with extension table. It has worked perfectly for the 15 or so years I've had the saw.
I have a Unisaw w/ extension table AND a 36" x 60" outfeed table w/ router installed. It is mounted on the standard HTC mobile base for the Unisaw and is a snap to move.
