I just received the latest catalog from FarmTek (www.FarmTek.com) and they have the powertwist belt, 5-foot length for only $18.95. I am ordering at once. Just wanted to pass it along.

Larry, thanks for the heads up. I'been looking at those in the magazines for years
and have always wondered if they live up to the advertizements. Do you have any of your tools running with twist belts now, and whats your opinion. I'm also wondering if any of the pros use these in their commercial shops?
I have not used one yet, but a friend of mine has. He said it did make his machine less noisy and vibrated less. Since I have an unheated garage shop, when using the saw at first, the standard belt is frozen win place, and develops a rythmic vibration for a spell. I plan on getting two, one for the CS, the other for my drill press
The PowerTwist belts are worth every cent. I have an old Jet contractor's saw that I put one on this summer, and it was a miraculous transformation. The decrease in vibration and noise was way beyond my expectations, even having read several other testimonials.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
Thanks for the feed back. I too have a jet contsaw. I've never thought about the belt being a source of problem, but looking at the design, with the motor mounted
on a rod with gravity providing the tension, that belt will be stretching all the time.
I do notice, esp after not sawing for a few days there is vibration. Gotta go
order some link belts. KH
I checked with Farmtek, and the online ordering does not accept the lower price. BUT, all you have to do is order by phone, 1-800-327-6835, and when they take your order, tell them the YELLOW code # is F14236. That will get the price. The item is #MR5008. The item, not that you need it is " A Section/4l;-1/2", 5 feet." price is $18.95. shipping is about 4 bucks, but its still cheaper than other catalogs. Order a couple, same shipping price.
They will ship you your own catalog for any future stuff.
Good Luck
Thanks!Edward
Is that price a a special one from that catalog only? It is higher on the web site.... is there a catalog code to use?
