I would like a router that is easy to adjust the height and change router bits with out removing it from the table.FWW gave the Triton a very good review but after looking at the reviews of individuals who purchased the 3 HP one on Amazon.com there are some quality concerns. All comments are appreciated.

There have already been a couple of threads re Triton which might interest you. I haven't had mine very long, but so far have had no problems with quality. The raise-lower mechanism is very quick and effective, but is done under the table for the 3 hp model. Bit changes are above the table, and very fast -- a quarter turn with a single spanner. Because there are essential controls in or near both handles you have to check available space if you are installing in a cabinet-type table. I've used mine with a panel-raising bit (not the largest) and it handled it easily. The base opening isn't much over 3 inches, so really large panel bits are a problem. I find that the soft start isn't as soft as some others -- it seems to start at close to full speed; but that isn't a problem in a table.
What exactly were the quality issues raised?

woodenhead,
Here is ghe link Jim alluded to ....http://forums.taunton.com/fw-knots/messages?msg=37908.64
I've owned 6 routers...Craftsman, Freud FT2000, MW5615, MW5625, Freud FT1700, and Bsoch 1617, plus have used the big Makita and Bosch 1619 in router tables. I can't comment direcly on the Tritons. The most table friendly of those I've used is the FT1700 for it's above table features. It's got enough power to handle occasional raised panels, but if you plan to do alot of them I prefer the MW5625, though it's above table features are not as easy to use as the FT1700's. You might look into the FT3000 too...
