Hi everyone!
so I’m continuing to the main shelving and counter on my reception desk which consists of pine that I have burnt for effect. Finding references online it looks like people will grind out the softer spring wood from the grain to allow for maximum burn effect. I tried using a grinding tool with a braided wire brush but that pretty much makes a mess of everything and is very scarring.
can you recommend any other trick?
attached is a great example of what I’d like to accomplish.

Hand-held wire brush.
Sand blasting or, more precisely, media blasting. They don't always use sand these days.
