What have you guys found is the fastest way to secure wood underlay to a wood subfloor? I have a compressor if a nailer is recommended, but what kind of nails should I use?
blue ring nails?
roofing nails?
2″ ardox nails?
crown staples?
screws?
Thanks for any suggestions. This is for I house I want to get on the market ASAP. It’s a reno job not a new home.

Are you worried about creak and squeak? If so, glue it with construction adhesive then screw it down. Other wise just staple it, sell it and run.

"..sell it and run."... definitely advice from a Californian - all show and no go!
You bet, profit all the way. That was meant as humor. I should have used an emoticon. LOLSteve - in Northern California
If using ¼” or 3/8” I would glue it and screw it with an 8” pattern. No mater what!!
If 5/8” or ¾” you could just screw it. 10” pattern, but better with glue. Make sure the original sub floor is not squeaking if so screw it good. Also needs to be some what clean, no drywall mud,
You don’t want a potential buyer to be walking a squeaking floor!
Jeff the floor man in so cal
Still don't know if its squeaking or not but if it is there is a lot more that you need to look at then just adding a couple of more screws here and there. I was just under a friends house the other evening. He had a squeaky floor that turned out to be a small part of a bigger problem. I'll go into detail if you have the problem.

Standard around here is narrow crown divergent point staples, 3" spacing at the margins and 6" spacing in the field.
