New to woodworking,
Have an old teak table leaf with a pretty good ding in it – 3mm x 10mm and 6mm deep. Believe I have to fill it in but was wondering what would be the best kind/type of filler to use. Any help would be appreciate. Thanks.

If it is a compression injury (banged), and not a cut you may be able to steam it out. use a steaming hot damp towel, or steaming hot water and a paint brush. sometimes this will raise the dent. depending on the finish a burn in stick may look better as well. If the grain is very visible through the finish, id use a burn in stick and then artist oils to paint in the missing grain. That can take some time to match the colours.

There is a book titled Understanding wood finishes. It is awsome and has a through section on repairs.
