I own a Biesemeyer fence system puchased with the Delta 36-982 contractor TS. When the fence systems were offered for $80.00 at my local lowes, I could not pass and purchased one. What are your thoughts of using this as a Sacrificial fence as apposed to purchasing the B78-940 Biesemeyer Auxiliary Fence? Is this a workable option? Thanks.

Why would you do that? Just make one! Isn't that why you do woodworking...to make stuff instead of buying it.
If you can't make something in 20 minutes as a sacraficial fence... well I just don't know. Personally I made my own and it's used for pattern cutting as well as a sacraficial fence. I can usually make my own jigs and fixtures better and cheaper than buying anything on the market

Not saying that either is right but some people like to make "real" stuff in their shop, not stuff to make stuff.
Cannot always buy what you want so you have to make.
In this case we were discussing a choice to make or buy.
I have two fence system, with the second still in the box. Not sure what I would do with the extra rails, spares I guess, but the second fence would fit my present set of rails.
I bought the auxillary fence. We all have scrap wood in our shop to make anything but I would rather use there method of attaching to the fence then using a few clamps. I mean, I would rather work wood then have to spend time making auxillary fences. It is a nice piece of equipment and you will enjoy it.
Rockler makes some neat clamps that make it easy to clamp aux fences to a Biesmeyer.
With these and a piece of scrap, you have an aux fence that goes on and off in a snap.
Good luck
What were your original intentions for purchasing the second fence? In my opinion I would NOT ruin the second fence. Is there any difference between the regular Bies fence and their Auxiliary Fence?
Also, if you don't need the second one why not sell it at a profit and purchase somethingh that you really need?
Just my 2¢,

A Woodworkers mind should be the sharpest tool in the shop!
Thank you very much for your input. It is nice to have a forum of such experience. After reading your post, buy the auxillary fence.
I was just thinking that you could sell one of them, get a new tool(s) from the profit and get two of these from Rockler:

You still would mount a piece of plywood as a sacraficial fence. Some guys must be doctors for their real job and do woodworking as a hobby. I'm in charge of purchasing in a professional shop and often make stuff we can't buy and certainly do know when it's better to buy than make.
Good go Rick!
Now we just saved him another $100! More wood, more wood, more wood.
