I need to replace the facing on my Biesemeyer fence and I was wondering if you would recommend Phenolic plastic, UHMW plastic, or something else. Thanks Keith

I would use a quarter sawn hardwood, MDF, or a baltic birch type plywood for the face and give it an occasional coat of wax. All of the plastic and laminated faces are just gimmicks that don't serve to improve the fence and are harder to install and keep flat. There is no need to plug the screw holes as long as the screw heads are below the face by a little bit.
