I have the same problem with my Jet 'Bies' clone. It's nice to know they were so faithful in their reproduction. Carpet tape works for a while, but the last time I used 'faceplate' tape from Rockler. We'll see how long that lasts.

thanx for reply, fence is on unisaw , going to try a piece of plastic laminate for temp pad, hot glue or crazy glue to adhere it, seems the right thickness, time will tell.
talk to you later / thanx again
Quick check, see if the cam lock is lining up correctly. My Jet exacta fence did something similar except that I found that I had cracked the head assembly. Try this... When locking the fence watch the head, if it moves to one side or the other it might be cracked. This movement puts motion onto the cam that it doesn't like and the pad comes off.
I cracked mine when I settled down on it with my 250lbs of body weight. I wasn't use to these new fences that take such little force to set. By the way, Jet replaced mine with a simple half hour trip back to the store where I bought it. There were no questions asked. In fact, when I called the store they almost ordered me to come down for an immediate replacement. If I remember the conversation it was something like "Jet doesnt care how it got broken, it just shouldnt have and thats it." I'm getting to sound like a Jet Salesman here but this is the truth and its what makes me keep buying the brand.
