I saw that table too when I went there last year. Really nice looking piece. I don't know of any plans available for the piece so you may have to come up with them yourself. I bought the Biltmore book while I was there and they have a nice picture of in it in there. Basically, you'll have to scale the table from the picture to figure out the dimensions and go from there. There's are articles on how to scale furniture from a photo somewhere in the Taunton archives.
I have found on the web a company called Magnussen Furniture ( actually they make a lot of reproduction furniture fron the Biltmore ) they make a replica of the table.... $900... sounds like enough. They list the size but not enough detail to built it, it would be close but not the same. For a piece that is as documented by the Vanderbuilts as this table one would think this would of been reproduced and plans available.
If someone could find a large enough picture of the table, I might be able to get something going in SketchUp using Photo Match.
I have pictures .... how do I post them?
When you push reply at the bottom is a button that says attach files. Its beside the spell check button. This will take you to a window that gives you the browse option. Click it, and go to the folder where you have them stored on your pc and select them one at a time and upload. After each upload select the next one and so on and so on till you have them listed and select done! you can hit the post button and bam they are there! If you have problems send them to me via e-mail and I'll post for you. Take care.Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it.
