I’m constructing a walk in closet with pull out drawers and shoe racks but the architects span on some of the closet poles is too great without some center support. Since everything is going to be made of birch I want to build some sort of floor to ceiling rotary closet pole for the corner units. Does anyone know where a supplier of ‘birch poles’ might be located. They would have to be 3-4 inches thick and over 8 ft. in length. My hardwood supplier only carries up to 1 3/4″ and would have to manufacture anything wider, after setup they will charge anywhere between 15 to 20 dollars a foot. I’m looking to see if any of you know of someone who stocks such an item so that it is readily availabe and possibly cheaper. Maple, ash, hickory, or most other hardwoods could be considered. Thanks.
