Just wondering.. Christmas gift for my Sister-In-Law.. Almost done.. I hope!
Mostly just used a cabinet scraper and a little sanding where needed..
Just a tung oil finish.. ‘Lookin Good’..
Well cept fer a few ‘little eyes’ that sort of popped out leaving tiny HOLES!! DAMN!
I was waxing with a linen buffing wheel and Carnauba wax..
Anybody know why? All the sticks are 3/8 inch thick (drawers) and I broke apart some scraps for a ‘look’.. Geeeee.. I never realized what a MESS is IN there!..

The only thing I can think of to fix it is to carefully cut out a "eye" and inlay it where they fell out. I've never had a eye pop out while scraping, but they are the result of some kind of stress in the tree which could lead them to be weak.

You can use a wax repair stick and fill in the hole.
