Birdseye Maple SINGS!..
I have been making dovetails in a lot of birdseye maple.. Hardly ever used maple much before.. Just thicker stuff….
Just like a sound board.. Each hunk ‘SINGS’ a different tune!
I was havin’ fun…. Never heard the differences this great in other woods I use…
I think I made to many pieces.. I got carried away!

You are right! It is a beautiful and unique wood. It has a beauty and splendor that is unmatched. Not to burst the bubble, but the same can be said of certain walnut cuts, sycamore, oak, the rosewoods, and I guess any wood that you really take the time to look at and truly admire. All are equal, and yet so very differently beautiful, in the eye of the beholder. Love what you are working with at the time and do your best to enhance its beauty.
Sorry for getting so philosophical about woods, but I admire all for their own distinct qualities. Birdseye maple is a favorite.
So, Will, where's our MP3 file?! ROFL. I'm going to make a side table for some friends' 40th anniversary. Perhaps I'll choose BE Maple and not have to play the radio while I'm working!
