I posted something about this and wanted to let you all know what happened.
I bought about 750 bf of Black locust for $.50 a board foot. I had it planed, jointed, ripped and tounge and groved for about $.80 a bf.
The 7/8x 8 random width was nailed down for a covered portch. The remainding 3/4 x random width/ length was enough to do daughter’s bedroom. The boards have some imperfections.
The indoor flooring looks like something out of a very old (Colonial) house. The portch looks only slightly on the rustic side. Both areas are yet to be sanded.
I have no idea how this stuff will move. Most of the expansion/contraction coefficents seemed modest.
Overall I find it a pretty wood ( like a yellowish, harder ash) at a very good price that is reportedly rot-resistant.
Thanks for everyone’s advise.

The sapwood of BL is not very rot resistant but the rest is very much so. Fence posts made of BL will last 50 years in places with medium to low humidity.
I have maybe 50 BL trees that are 16-18" in diam. Have wondered what to do with them.
BL also is the best firewood in terms of BTU of heat energy released. But, the wood has to be cured a long time (2 years) before using else cresote will build up rapidly in the chimney.

Frank, how is the BL looking nowadays?? I have possible access to quite a few BL trees if I want, but am not sure how easy it is to dry the lumber. Have read that it's subject to quite a bit of checking, etc. Are you happy with your floors?

what is the diffreance a(physical apperance) between black locust and honey locust . i have a sawyer buddy with a somewhat green bumper crop of honey locust and was wondering the differance.........thanks. bear
Click on this link, and scroll down to "L" for locust. They have pictures of both types.
PS: It is my understanding that the Black Locust mellows to brown tones with aging.
