On the TV the other day they were showing how to get the blade and fence alined
to each other.
He set the fence to the slot- loosen the rear mount-clamped the blade to the fence locked down.- Tightened the rear mount.
He said its was fool proof
Seems a lot easier than other methods I’ve heard – Has anyone ever tried this?

Cannot see this working. There is enough flex in the blade to allow for errors. The best method is to square the blade to the miter slot using a set square. Then set the fence to the blade by measuring from the front and back of the blade or just using the miter slot.

Ditto to Scott and Sarge. The flex problem would totally negate your results with this method. You could try moving the fence extremely close to the blade and use a feeler gauge or similar thin metal to check. But remember to rotate the blade front to back so that you're measuring from the same tooth in both places.
