Bleaching walnut

Can walnut be lightened up with oxalic acid, bleach, or any thing else? I want to lighten up the color of some unfinished walnut to make a table.

yes, use the 2 part bleach system available in most paint stores. (oxalic acid or chlorine bleach won't do it.)
