I am at a serious loss of ideas with this one. I had shelves milled for my bathroom closet which are similar to the construction of laminate countertops and am trying to figure out how I can hang them without wall cleats or brackets showing. Obviously, I have to get passed the door frame which is causing the problem since the shelf has to go in the closet at an angle before it can straighten out. Because of this issue, I can’t use the rod-style blind shelf supports and can’t seem to find any other options. Any thoughts? If I need to reclarify, please let me know!

blind shelf supports
Doesn't the solution depend on the size of the shelf versus the size of the closet? If the shelf is less than half the depth of the closet, the hidden rod style support should work OK.
Otherwise, you might need to use anti-gravity paint. But, that is hard to find. ;-)
Blind shelves in the closet : Pocket Screws?
Hi,
I just happened to have had a similar problem and I went with pocket screws. I located the studs, prefit the shelves and marked up where to drill the screws. I used 2 1/2" screws to reach the studs. I had to be careful to locate the screws so that I could get my drill in position underneath the shelf. In my case the shelves were white so I used the Kreg pre-cut plugs to hide the holes on the bottoms of the shelves.
Good Luck,
Tim
