Blueprints for the Tage Frid work bench, FWW #4
Having read Tage Frid’s article about building a work bench in issue #4, I noted at the end of the article that there are blueprints available for this project. I appreciate that the article was published in 1976. By chance are there any copies still available? If not, have the blueprints been digitized and available in that format?
Thanks in advance. I tried to contact customer support directly but did not find a suitable email address. Thanks for your patience.
BTW, the website has improved significantly since the new support vendor began service.

Those earlier issues have terrible drawings in them. Issue 53 has a Scandinavian bench built by Klauz that is better visually and is complete. Many have complained about the end vise on those benches and have gone to a wagon wheel type. Frid’s bench is in his 3rd book but it lacks dimensions if I recall correctly.
I built a Klausz style workbench based on the plans in Scott Landis's Work Bench Book about 30 years ago. I had to mod the tail vise detail to accept available hardware. I also dropped the front rail so I could put in a bottom shelf. I never had any problems with the tail vise. It went away in the great downsizing move 5 years ago. My friend was glad to get it.
There is a workbench in "Tage Frid Teaches Woodworking Book 3: Furnituremaking", published by Taunton Press, pages 25-42.
It looks to be the same bench that was published in issue #4.
The Tage Frid three volume set is still available on amazon.
The workbench that Tage Frid has in Book 3: Furnituremaking gives the general dimensions of the bench on the illustrations however for the remaining information you have to use a scale, 3/64” = 1” to determine the rest of the relevant information. The copy of the book I have was published by Taunton Press copyright 1985, therefore I can’t post a photo.
If you aren't able to come up with the plans for the bench, I think there's enough information in the article to build it. If you need more detailed plans than that, it would be possible to create a 3D model and then plans from that. I could be hired to do that.
Thank you sjeff70, 3steers and stuafox for your suggestions.
Thank you daverichards for your offer.
As a retiree, inflation has pretty much eliminated purchasing a bench and I have to build the best bench I can afford.
Best wishes to all.
Look on Pinterest. Someone was offering plans there.
Is this what you're lloking for?

Thank you for your suggestion. The fabrication methods will be helpful when constructing the bench.
Are you wedded to that style of bench. I personally really, really dislike it. That whole projection for the face vise really gets in the way, and can literally be a pain in the n _ _ s.
Chris Schwarz has a great book on workbenches for every budget, with detailed plans, that's a free download. At the very least you'll get a lot of great ideas.
