I’m looking for some well written sample contracts/agreements for starting a project with a new client. Has anyone come across good generic contracts that could be edited/reused?
Thanks,
Jessica

Jessica,
I just Googled "contract templates for contractors" and got a bunch of hits. Most aren't free but should get you started.

That is great. Wish I had Google for my brain! Thanks to all.Jessica
The contracts that you see most often for this line of work are geared to cabinetry. Look on Cabinet Makers magizine online forum and search for contracts. For something more "craft oriented" check on some of the profesional artist forums. Artists are generally pretty good about sharing these things. Of course few use contracts. Whatever you do, if you really think that you need a contract you need to have a contract lawer look it over and customise it for you.
Pardon my spelling,
Mike
Make sure that your next project is beyond your skill and requires tools you don't have. You won't regret it.
jwickham,
get all the boilerplate you want.. if they want to they can make your life miserable.. know who you are working for.
Now this sounds like bigotry, but do not work for lawyers..
While they pay quickly if they have the income rolling in occasionally they will lose a case they counted on and then the fun begins.. Now you are playing their game and only they know the rules.
