I don't know if the book is any good, but Lee Valley in Canada at least has a book on making doors and entery ways on sale for $6.

This address should get you to Mcfeely's screws website for a book on doormaking, excellent book. I have have used it many times for reference and design. Hope it works for you.

Have you tried the folks at Fine Home Building? More of a house type question than a furniture one. Lots of good choices on the books page and also http://www.cambiumbooks.com
John Birchard - Making Windows and Doors (or something like that).
Type his name in an Amazon search and you will have your book.
