Hi ALL
My wood working is an all expense, time consuming pleasure. No income. Just satisfaction! Actually I am more of a tool collector than woodworker and I have wanted to replace my old Craftsman jig saw for a very long time. I have read many post about jig saws and decided on a Bosch 1590.
The finance chairperson said no way. $169.00 plus tax. You have got to be kidding.
Amazon had a special for $159.00 PLUS another $30.00 off if you charged it to your AMAZON Credit Card.
WOW!
I can resist anything except temptation and that was too much. I ordered and received the Bosch 1590 EVSK
Jig Saw. Only $129.00, no tax and free shipping. What a deal! I even ordered some Bosch blades. A 5 pack for $6 and some change. The blades were going to be sent from some other source and the shipping charge was almost as much as the cost of the blades. Almost didn’t catch that. I cancelled that part of the order
The saw is really nice. I never thought a jig saw could be this good. It is smooth cutting, easy to guide, change the blade without tools.
Now all I have to get is forgiveness!

I had to cut a circle 27' in diameter for a buddies deck that goes around his pool. I figured that the old B&D that my dad bought me 20+ years ago wouldn't make it so I bought the Bosch 1590 also. Worked like a charm though the wife's charm left for sometime. Anyway all is good now, all it took was a new sofa set for her.

Why is it that the $250 tool for husband can only be equalized by the $2,500 dining room set for wife? Something seems out of kilter there, but that's always how it works.
Mark - you've got it backwards - the appropriate way to say that is "Honey, I can make you a killer dining room set worth $2500 easily, but I need a "couple" of tools to get to that level of quality." :-))

It's part of the general explanation that my wife gave me some time ago:
"It's your fault. No matter, it's always your fault. Get used to it, you'll be much happier."
Actually, approached the right way the tools vs the cost of the finished job argument really does work out. We decided to finally put down hardwood floors in the whole house (1600 sq ft plus baseboards, molding, stairs, incidentals) and completely remodel the kitchen.
Cost of the floors, installed: $20,000 (Materials only - $7000)
Kitchen Remodel: $40,000- 50,000 (Materials only - $10,000)
"Sweetheart," I said, "It'll take 5-6 months, but I'm going to do this. It'll just be the cost for materials and I'll need to spend about $1500 in new tools (chop saw, circular saw and guide system, jig saw, table saw blades, router bits, odds & ends)."
She looked at me for about 3 seconds before asking why I wasn't on the way to the store. (We're about half-way done now, with some unexpected side excursions into building bedroom furniture to replace stuff that the gorgeous new floors made look worn out.)

Have you heard the"What's mine is mine, what's yours is mine" ? I get that from my wife all the time :-)and yes it's all my fault too...Put up some pictures of the new rooms.Mark
Measure it with a micrometer, mark it with chalk, cut it with an ax.
Well truth be know I wanted a new sofa set to go with my new wide screen TV. I am after doing pretty good this month with new tools. The wife has let me get several new bg ticket items.Scott C. Frankland
