There was a post a few days ago for suggestions on Jig-saws. I have become a PC fan and was real close to buying theirs. After all the talk about Bosch, I went and looked at the 1590evsk. It looks and feels pretty good. At 6.4 Amps seems pretty powerful and ergonomically felt a little better than the PC. Never owned any Bosch stuff, and was wondering if anybody had this model. There is another model that is a barrel type, but did not feel as comfortable. Thoughts?

I haven't tried a 1590 but by the feedback I've seen, it looks like a winner. I have a Milwaukee 6266-21 and to my mind, the 1590 shows the effect of competition- I think it's much improved over the previous 1587 and trumps the Milwaukee in some areas. If I were in the market for a jigsaw, it would come down to the Milwaukee 6266 and the Bosch 1590. Fwiw, Bosch's previous 1587 is available dirt cheap, I've seen recon kits for $109 w/ new tool warranty. As to handle, some say a barrel handle offers more contol but I think it really comes down to personal preference and what feels the most comfortable These days for me it's a top handle; a barrel handle is a bit much for these arthritic old paws.
This is the same model that I have recently bought - although in the UK it is called the GST135BCE. It is utterly brilliant, one of the best tools I have ever bought. The precision guide for the blade is just fantastic.
Hope that helps you in your decision.
